We're Back

Our vacation started when we arrived at my grandparent's house around three in the morning Wednesday. We spent the first day resting and swimming. We drove out to Bear Lake and found the spot that my dad would always bring us when we were little. It is just like I remember it. That night we set up our tent in an opening along a road that had grass up to our knees. We used a weedwacker to cut a flat spot to put our tent. We left the fly off so we could watch the stars once we went to bed. After a couple drinks and a few hands of thirty one we went to bed, only to wake up to lightning and decide to head back to the house where we could get a dry night's rest.

Thursday morning we got up at eight to head to an auction on Big Four Road. My cousin Todd was the auctioneer and we thought it would be fun to check out. We ended up buying a bunch of junk, but some cool stuff too. We bought a beautiful jewelry box in great condition for $2.00. We also bought a set of antique Macinac glasses for $1.00. For $2.00 we bought about five boxes of mugs. For another couple dollars we got a set of nice glasses and a few boxes of junk. The most we spent on a bid was $10 for a box of pans. We spent nineteen dollars and got a ton of stuff. Once we arrived back at grandma's we sorted through our stuff and threw away some and gave some to them, but we came home with some cool stuff. In one of the boxes was a beach ball that had never been used and it was 32 years old.

Later that day we went to Bear Lake again and put the beach ball to good use. We went back to grandma's and had a bonfire with some cousins that were visiting from Philadelphia. We decided it would be best to sleep in the house for the last night. This morning we woke up and did a whole lot of nothing. We left grandma's around 4:30 and made it home at 8:00. Of course, we stopped at Pizza Hut and then we drove over to Custer because we thought we might go skating at Johnny's. But they didn't open until 7:30 and it was only 6:50. We had also forgot that skating at Johnny's was a pre-teen magnent and so we decided not to wait.

Anyway, I am glad to be home and I had a good time.
